Almost a twelve years to the day I photographed Allen at a small college town festival in Milledgeville, Georgia. I’d never heard or seen his name but I left with a mountain of good images and impressed with his musicality. Twelve years ago Allen was all over the stage, even going full Eddie Vedder climbing around the stage skeleton…but we’ve all slowed down a little in twelve years and Allen was a lot more reserved this night. Maybe it was a down night, physically, but the music was just as powerful, shiny, and AMEN-able.
Ironically the same little festival that I was introduced to Allen was going on this night too. Weird
